A small room. A wide horizon.
Art from every background. A welcome for every walk of life.
We are an all-around “no art” gallery. We sell and display art from any background or walk of life, welcoming a wide range of artists and perspectives.
All displayed art must be appropriate, non-discriminatory, inclusive, and acceptable for men, women, and children of all ages to enjoy without being offended.
Alongside original pieces, we offer high quality and standard prints, including works by Jordy, Dufer, and Zuke, and custom pieces by various artists.
Highbridge Art Gallery began with a conversation in Medellín. The founders had traveled to Comuna 13, climbed the escalators, and found in Jordy's studio work that felt like it belonged in the world's great museums — not because of the frames it wore, but because of the story each canvas carried.
We asked whether he'd consider a permanent presence in the United States. He said yes, on one condition: that the room feel like his. Painted matte black, lit warmly, hung generously, presented with the same reverence Comuna 13 shows the walls it lives with.
That room is now open in Bowie, Maryland.
Bowie is not where you expect a gallery of this weight. That is precisely the point. Great work does not require a Manhattan address; it requires a room, a light, and a community willing to sit with it.
By placing the gallery inside Highbridge One Barbershop — itself a house of craft — we sit at the intersection of two disciplines that respect the hand, the eye, and the hour. Visitors come for one and often leave with the other.
